Bridging to Radio Astronomy and Diffraction Art

Radio telescopes like the VLA rely on interferometry, which is essentially a large-scale version of the double-slit experiment. Multiple dishes act like slits, and the signals they receive are combined to produce interference patterns that reveal the structure of distant cosmic sources.  Doug’s diffraction art—etched with laser precision—visually echoes these interference patterns.
